What Is Van Subscription

Discover the freedom of van subscription

The cost of hiring a van for more than one month can be astronomical. Equally, you don’t want to sign a long-term contract for a specific van when you can’t know if it will still suit your requirements three years down the line. That’s when van subscription comes in because you can subscribe to a van from 1 to 36 months. Read on to learn more about how van subscription can help you.

Row of vans

1. Flexibility

Even if you sign a 24 month subscription to a specific van, with Myvandirect you have the flexibility to change vehicle during the subscription period. You even have the flexibility to change your subscription period and monthly mileage package if needs be. Our service is designed to be as flexible as possible, giving you the freedom to find what works best for you. With regards to any early termination costs or vehicle change overs, we simply ask you pay for what you use. For example, you sign up to a 24 month contract on a Vauxhall Combo Cargo at £403 a month and after 12 months decide you want to return it, below is how to work out the return cost:

12 months at the 24 month rate = £4,836

12 months at the 12 month rate (£418pm) = £5,016

So you would pay £5016 – £4836 = £180

2. All-inclusivity

With van subscription there’s no need to worry about maintenance, MOT, road tax, or breakdown cover, because Myvandirect cover it all. Our all-inclusive packages come as standard and are included within the monthly rate. The only thing we require you to provide is fully comprehensive insurance.

The most common vehicle maintenance issues include:

  • Gearbox
  • Electrical
  • Clutch
  • Turbo
  • Brakes
  • Alternator
  • Cylinder head gasket
  • Air-con condenser
  • ERG valve
  • Window motor/regulator

3. Convenient

Just to make things extra easy, Myvandirect also offer free home and office delivery. This means you can order your new van from where ever you like and get it delivered direct to your door, anywhere in the mainland UK, including Wales and Scotland. Our 100% online service is designed to make ordering your van simple. Our ordering process is online, to make it as transparent and easy as possible, but if you want to speak to a real person, you can give us a call on 0333 0155 055.

4. Business and Personal

We offer van subscriptions on a business as well as personal basis, so whatever the size of your operation, we have a subscription that will work for you. Please note that we can only supply vehicles to businesses with at least 3 years of accounts, if your business is less than 3 years old, we may however be willing to underwrite a personal application. If you are a sole trader, you will need to make a personal application.

5. What sort of vans do you have?

We currently stock a compact, master and Large Panel van; the Vauxhall Combo Cargo, a Transit Custom, and long wheel base Transits.

Vauxhall Combo Cargo:

if you are looking for a small, versatile van, you can’t go wrong with the Vauxhall Combo Cargo, with it’s excellent load capacity, and efficient engine. The Combo Cargo features a 1.5 litre 99bhp turbo diesel engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox, it’s the same running gear found in Vauxhall cars so it’s not surprising to find that this small van is good to drive.

Most of these vans spend their lives in urban environments so mpg and emissions are important. Vauxhall reckons you’ll get 64.2 mpg and emissions of 108g/km CO2, making them highly practical and economical for business and private users.

We’ve gone for the Dynamic trim which means you get air conditioning, DAB radio, Bluetooth, rear parking sensors, cruise control, powered and heated door mirrors, hill start assist, height adjustment to the driver’s seat and a remote control security alarm system. There’s also a stack of safety kits. Who said vans are basic? As compact vans go, there’s nothing better.

Transit Custom:

It’s the van against which all others are measured. The Citizen Kane of Vans, the Real Madrid of moving goods and services – it’s incredibly popular, and we’ve gone for what is arguably the most popular model in the range, which features a short wheelbase and low roofline.

The power comes from the terrific 2.0 litre, 104bhp EcoBlue diesel engine driving the front wheels via a 6-speed manual box. You’ll get close to 40mpg and emissions are 187 g/kmCO2. The power steering is light but direct and still gives you plenty of ‘feel’ with the road. Overall, the Transit is really good to drive.

As for dimensions…payload is 1085kg and there’s room for 5.95 cubic metres which equates to three Europallets. Load height is 1406mm, width 1775mm and length is 2555mm.

We’ve gone for limited trim in our Transit which means you’ll get air conditioning, heated windscreen, powered windows, high-intensity headlights, DAB radio, really smart 8-inch colour touchscreen, heated driver’s seat with lumbar supporter and 8-way adjustment, cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors. The powered folding exterior mirrors have an additional lens to help prevent blind spots. You also get three seats in the front.

The Ford Transit is rightly referred to as an icon of the van world. It’s no fluke that it’s so popular. When it comes to driver comfort and enjoyment, load capability, and economy, you should use the Ford Transit as the benchmark for what you need.

Long Wheel Base Transit:

the long wheel base Transit is much as you would expect, like the above Transit, but with additional load capacity, and sliding side doors.

You get almost double the amount of load capacity at 11.5 m3, and a maximum payload of 1366kg.

They’re extremely well equipped as well; with all the kit you get on it’s little brother, and full 360 degree cameras so you can monitor your reversing and blind spots from the screen on the center console.

If you need a bigger van for a bigger job, this is the one for you.
